Impossibly Thin and Light Hand-carved Zelkova Wood Lacquered Gold Leaf Sake Set
Our Kyoto gold leaf master artisan and a woodcarving artisan in the densely forested mountains above Kyoto collaborated to create this hand-carved, impossibly thin and light ‘usuhiki’ sake set from the finest Japanese ‘keyaki’ zelkova wood. The natural and novel form is inspired by leaves in the wind.
The vessels are lacquered in the traditional Japanese ‘urushi’ technique, both inside and out. The inside has three layers of lacquer and two layers of gold leaf, making for a breathtakingly beautiful, yet durable surface.
A delicate and sophisticated way to enjoy Japanese sake or wine.
The set includes 1 ‘katakuchi’ decanter vessel and 2 ‘guinomi’ cups.
